My private coaching offers individualised coaching and support for those ready to embark on a journey towards deepening their understanding of their relationship with alcohol. I know firsthand that quitting drinking is a deeply personal and often challenging process. My coaching provides a supportive, and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their relationship with alcohol, set goals, and develop strategies for lasting change.

Hi! I’m Melissa Kelly, B.A., M.Sc., Ph.D.
I'm a researcher, speaker, coach, and founder of the Sober Social Ireland community. I hold multiple psychology degrees (B.A., MSc) in addition to my PhD that focused on improving health risk communication.
I am also a postdoctoral researcher working in the field of public health.
My expertise and passion lies in helping people understand their drinking habits and change their relationship with alcohol.

I had a great career in research, a healthy relationship with my partner, and a beautiful apartment.
I didn’t drink everyday, but I had an unhealthy relationship with alcohol and used it to cope with difficult emotions.
My drinking felt out of control and hangovers left me feeling anxious and ashamed for days on end.
I tried (and failed) to quit drinking dozens of times.
Until I went beneath the behavior and started explored the stories and emotions tied to my drinking.

During this 75 minute session, we will delve deep into your challenges with alcohol and drinking habits. The session is tailored to your needs and specific to you. It’s my aim to give you support and guidance for changing your relationship with alcohol. After our session, you will receive a detailed summary of what we covered and a clear plan to help you move forward.

The session is tailored to your needs and specific to you.
During this 75-minute private session, we will delve deep into your challenges with alcohol and over drinking.
With years of coaching and group facilitation under my belt, I help you uncover what’s keeping you stuck in your current drinking habits. Together, we’ll create a sustainable plan that supports your goals.
After your Clarity Private Session, you can continue with private sessions at €110 per hour or invest in a package of 5 sessions for €500 (must be used weekly over the course of two months).

Simply put, in therapy you look backwards to your past and in coaching you look forward towards your present and future. Through coaching, I help you see how your current thoughts and emotions are linked to your drinking habtis and we work on changing them. Many of my clients work with both a therapist and coach, as both practices often compliment each other.

In my practice, there are zero labels required. You get to choose a goal that feels right for you and we work towards that. Many of my clients still drink, but want to work on changing emotional aspects of their relationship with alcohol. All journeys are welcome.
